Flavio Alvaro and Lucas Pimenta won the lightweight and welterweight tournaments respectively at Ultimate Warrior Fighting “Tournament of Warriors Finale” June 30th, both by decision.  The event took place at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX with a live pay-per-view webcast at GoFightLive.

Flavio Alvaro may not be a familiar name to most fans with his biggest accomplishment prior to winning this tournament was defeating former Cage Rage champion Jean Silva in Shine Fights.  That is likely about to change now that Alvaro picked up this tournament title, his ninth win in a row bringing his record to a whopping 40-9.  Alvaro actually missed the opening round May 5th, replacing Hector Munoz in the semifinals where he defeated Chris Quitiquit by TKO and finally Reynaldo Trujillo this night by split decision.

In the welterweight tournament Bellator vet Lucas Pimenta had a tougher road to staying undefeated at 8-0 as he picked up wins over Shamar Bailey in the quarterfinals, Mitch Whitesel in the semis, and John Malbrough this night in the finals.  This was only the second time Pimenta has gone the distance with his prior decision being last April in UCC.
