Battle Xtreme Championship MMA videos posted at Sherdog, McMann's grappling match missing

Most of the videos from Battle Xtreme Championship are archived on Sherdog.com, the website which webstreamed the event live on June 16th at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA.  “Most” has to be used because the matchup between Olympic Silver Medalist Sara McMann and Jessie Swanson turned out to be a grappling match and is harder to find.

The main event was surprisingly interesting for a show of this level as it pitted American Top Team’s Rafael Dias against Ran Weathers of Jackson’s MMA.  It wasn’t much of a surprise Dias’ strategy was based around taking Weathers down for a submission, what was surprising was Weather’s defense against Dias who himself seemed much improved over his early days.  In round 2 Dias opened a cut over Weathers’ left eye and added a second cut in the third round while the rest of the fight was basically Dias taking Weathers down and threatening from top position.

The disappointing aspect to grappling fans is the absence of the McMann/Swanson match which thankfully is posted elsewhere such as ironforgesiron.com.  Originally McMann was supposed to have a MMA fight however her opponent backed out at the last minute and Swanson stepped up for a grappling match.  The match itself was understandably one-sided as McMann immediately took Swanson down with a single leg and made her tap to an Americana should lock.  McMann next headlines Invicta MMA in July against Shayna Baszler.
