UFC bantamweight Byron Bloodworth
The UFC has added a bantamweight contest between Byron Bloodworth and Erik Perez to the upcoming UFC 155 event. The card takes place Dec. 29 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Bloodworth earned a shot in the UFC with three-straight victories in the Southeast coast. In his UFC debut, he was derailed by top prospect Mike Easton. The DC native proved to be too much for Bloodworth and finished him late in the second round. Bloodworth trains at Iron Clutch Fitness in Marietta, Ga.
Perez is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak. During this stretch, he has picked up victories in Shark Fights, the British Association of MMA and of course the UFC. He is currently 2-0 in the top promotion. In his debut, he bested John Albert. Then, in his return fight, he stopped Ken Stone in less than 20 seconds.
In the main event of UFC 155, heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will defend his belt against former champion Cain Velasquez.
