Cage Warriors 48 streams live on MMA Junkie

One minor downside to Cage Warrior Fighting Championship’s website is the listing for Saturday’s CWFC 48 event is listed in London time, the free webstream begins for instance in the US at 2:45 ET for the Facebook prelims, 4 PM for the main card on MMA Junkie.  There will be one non-webcast fight, three on Facebook, and six on the main card.

15-5-1 BAMMA vet John Phillips returns to CWFC in the main event, taking on 9-3 Chris Fields in a battle of Wales vs. Ireland.  Phillips’ last fight, a triangle choke of Tomas Penz at CWFC Fight Night 6 in May, was his first time going past the first round in eleven fights with a loss to former UFC title contender Frank Trigg in May 2011 being his biggest to date.  Fields may not have the amount or level of experience as Phillips however the Irish fighter is on a seven-fight win streak with two of those in CWFC, his most recent being a TKO of Jack Mason in February.

In the co-main event 16-8 Denniston Sutherland tries to come back from two KO losses in a row to fight 8-5 Leigh Cohoon.  After knocking out UFC vet Mark Weir in June 2011 Sutherland himself was knocked out by Andrew Punshon in October and Jake Bostwick in December.  Cohoon broke his three-fight losing streak in April with a TKO of Lee Cage but is mainly known for his TKO win over Rob Mills and unanimous decision loss to Sam Watling, both in BAMMA.
