From Extreme Fighting Championships:

Two EFC Sports Management fighters will be in action this Friday, October 5, at a show entitled "Sherman Theater presents Friday Night at the Fights: Frontline Assault" at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Featherweight training partners and former foes, Brian Gill and Gabriel Ruiz, will each see action in separate bouts.

21-year-old Ruiz (1-2), a former wrestler from Haledon, New Jersey, has shown steady improvement in his all-around skills during his two-years of cage fighting. He is scheduled to face Josh Andress.

Paterson, New Jersey's 20-year-old Brian Gil (3-1) will be looking to bounce back from the only loss of his career, a five-round decision last May. He is scheduled to face Timothy Mahala.

Their trainer and long-time fight manager/promoter Hani Darwish of Extreme Fight Club gym in Woodland Park, New Jersey, says both fighters have something to prove Friday night.

"Gabriel picked up his first win in his last fight. He's been getting better and better. He needs another strong performance to keep his winning momentum going. On the other hand, Brian is coming off a surprising loss, so he's got to use this fight to turn things back around. Both of my fighters are matched up tough, but they're both in fantastic shape and ready for battle. I'm expecting impressive victories from both of them."

Both fighters are also scheduled to appear on Saturday, November 24, at Darwish's own "Extreme Fighting Championships 5: Undisputed" event at the Police Athletic League of Parsippany.
