From EFC AFRICA:

EFC AFRICA Ratings Double Since 2011

Johannesburg (South Africa)
– Since going live on African television in 2012, EFC AFRICA, the continent's largest MMA promotion, has doubled its TV ratings. EFC AFRICA commenced broadcasting on e.tv, Africa's largest English TV channel, in late 2011 with three delayed-live broadcasts, and so far in 2012 has aired three live broadcasts. The delayed-live shows drew huge ratings with an average peak audience of 560,342, and an average audience of 436,596, prompting e.tv to sign up live broadcasts for all EFC AFRICA events in 2012. With the ratings just in from the most recent live broadcast on 1 June, the already staggering audience numbers have doubled since last year, with the live broadcasts in 2012 pulling an average peak audience of 1.256 million, and average audiences of 733,923.

With another five live events and broadcasts scheduled before the end of the year, the sky is the limit for the Extreme Fighting Championship on the continent. "We will be the second most popular sport in Africa, after soccer," says EFC AFRICA president Cairo Howarth. "With TV the ratings and growth we have been experiencing, we are well on our way to achieving that goal."

Plus EFC AFRICA content is broadcast across Africa almost daily on Fox International's FX Africa channel, adding to the already huge exposure for the sport, the EFC AFRICA brand and its athletes. Additional international TV deals in Europe, Middle East and North America to be announced soon.

EFC AFRICA 15, presented by MusclePharm, takes place at the Carnival City Big Top Arena on 27 July. Tickets on sale at Computicketwww.computicket.com and tickets for the live broadcast to Nu Metro Cinemas across South Africa available at www.numetro.co.za.
