Hill/Bronzoulis and the return of Felice Herrig top XFC on AXS Friday night

Friday’s AXS MMA broadcast is XFC 19: Charlotte Showdown, the latest installment from the South’s most important show this time headlined by UFC vet Corey Hill vs. Strikeforce vet Mike Bronzoulis.  The event takes place August 3rd at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, NC with a live broadcast at 9 PM ET.

After going 1-2 in the UFC back in 2008 Corey Hill took over a year off, returning to MMA in January 2010 where he started a 4-2 segment of his 6-4 overall career.  Over the past two years Hill has no losses and wins over Charlie Rader and Darryl Madison, both first round submissions.  After leaving Strikeforce Mike Bronzoulis took two losses in LFC over four months before two weeks later defeating Danny Salinas in his most recent fight, May’s UWF card.  Now both these fighters try to prove they deserve another shot at the big shows in this main event.

Felice HerrigJust one week after Invicta FC’s second show renewed interest in the women’s divisions BFC vet Felice Herrig takes on Simona Soukupova.  Herrig is mainly known for her win over Jessica Rakoczy in BFC but has since gone 4-2 most recently defeating Patricia Vidonic in XFC 17 in April.  England’s Soukupova is 2-1 coming off a loss to Karla Benitez last August.  Both are known as strong strikers with Herrig definitely having the cage experience.
