BAMMA middleweight Jack Marshma
The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts has announced the headliner for their upcoming BAMMA 11 event. Jack Marshman will take on Xavier Foupa-Pokam in a middleweight contest on the card, which takes place Dec. 1 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.
Marshman will be making his fifth-straight appearance in BAMMA. In his last fight, he defeated Andrew Punshon via triangle choke submission at BAMMA 10. He currently holds an 11-1 record as a professional. His only career defeat came against recent UFC signee Tom Watson. Over the course of his career, Marshman has defeated Lee Barnes, Lee Chadwick and Paul Jenkins.
Between 2008-2009, Foupa-Pokam won seven-straight fights and earned a shot in the UFC. However, his stint in the UFC was over quickly as he dropped back-to-back bouts to Denis Kang and Drew McFedries. In fact, since signing with the UFC in 2009, "Professor X" has gone only 2-9. In his last fight, he dropped a decision to Claudio Henrique da Silva at Super Fight League 6.
BAMMA 11 also features a light heavyweight contest between Linton Vassell and Jason Jones. The event is also expected to crown the first BAMMA British welterweight and lightweight champions.
