Art of Jiu-Jitsu main academy

As I approached 411 E 17th Street in Costa Mesa I wasn't sure if I was arriving at the Grand Opening of the Mendes Brothers Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy or at a rock concert. The amount of people gathered outside the premises seemed to indicate the latter, but of course if isn't everyday when you have Rafa an Gui Mendes, Andre Galvao, BJ Penn, Makua Rothman and Alan Goes all in one place. Of course the chances of that happening increase when you RVCA's Pat Tanore invites his friends to the grand opening of the academy.

Art of Jiu-Jitsu is one of the nicest academies I've ever set foot on, it is  more like an art gallery meets a Jiu-Jitsu academy with great attention to detail, a series of murals and photos that is amazing and large matted areas for BJJ. Of course none of that really matters if you don't have the "guns" to deliver the instruction and Art of Jiu-Jitsu of course does with the Mendes Brothers at the instructional helm and BJJ Black Belt Pat Tanore at the operational command.

The Grand Opening went great with Gui and Rafa and Andre Glavao showcasing their technique during the free seminar followed by Makua Rothman and the Skains playing live and then some great food and talk story. Everyone had a great time

Art of Jiu-Jitsu will for sure be a success and a great place to train, learn and enjoy in So. Cal. Congrats to Rafa, Gui and Pat and BJJ for having such a great academy
