UFC 149 has lost another fighter due to injury. Siyar Bahadurzada has been forced out of his fight with Chris Clements. TUF veteran Matt Riddle will step into the fight on the card, which takes place on July 21 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

The original contest featured a welterweight contest between Thiago Alves and Yoshihiro Akiyama. Bahadurzada and Clements both came into the bout as replacements. In the main event, former WEC champion Urijah Faber will meet Renan "Barao" Pegado in an interim bantamweight title match. Faber was originally set to face Dominick Cruz for the belt, but an injury also forced him off the card.

Riddle recently stopped a two-fight losing skid with a split-decision victory over Henry Martinez at UFC 143. The TUF fighter also holds victories over DaMarques Johnson, Dan Cramer and Dante Rivera.

Clements finally made it to the UFC after nearly six years as a professional fighter. In his debut, he scored a split-decision win over veteran Keith Wisniewski at UFC 145. Before receiving the call up to the big show, he bested UFC veterans Rich Clementi and Jonathan Goulet.
