Deerfield Beach, FL - The moment that ASM President Glenn Robinson confirms to the UFC that Melvin Guillard will accept the fight against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in UFC 150's co-main event, Guillard receives a text message. It reads that the UFC Countdown show will head to JACO Hybrid Training Center, Guillard's training camp, in just three days, wasting no time to create a powerful preview of what fight fans can expect from these former training partners on August 11.

"I've never been in UFC Countdown before, hell yes, I'm available on Monday, whatever they want, I'm down," writes Guillard in a reply text.

Guillard holds the same enthusiasm and do what ever it takes attitude toward his upcoming bout with Cerrone.

"Things could be entirely different at this stage in my life, if I hadn't beaten Camoes at UFC 148, who knows where I would be right now," said Guillard. "Instead, I'm co-headlining a UFC Pay-Per-View for Mr. Lorenzo and Mr. Dana and all the fans, and in a fight that I think will be the Fight of Night. I feel blessed, and so much of this has to do with my team, my coaches and my manager who guided me and helped me settle down and build a real life and training program in South Florida. There is no way that Cerrone can beat me, because for the first time ever, I will be fighting at my full potential."

Guillard's manager Glenn Robinson shares Melvin's sentiments. "I can't believe this is the same guy that sat in my office and signed with me a year ago. Everyone, and I mean everyone but Melvin knew Melvin's potential. I can't tell you how many people I have heard say to me if only Melvin this, if only Melvin that...well I'm telling you today he is that guy. He is the Melvin Guillard that everyone hoped he would and could be, and everyone will get to see that Young Assassin when he fights Cowboy Cerrone at UFC 150."

"I can't wait for Denver," adds Guillard. "I want the fight to be this weekend. I'm already in shape and in my mind, and in strategy sessions with my coaches, I've already won the fight ten different ways."

UFC 150 takes place live from the Pepsi Center in Denver on August 11, 2012. The event will be presented live on Pay-Per-View and watched by millions across the United States and Canada. Countdown to UFC 150, featuring Guillard, will air the week leading up to the event on FUEL TV and on UFC.com.

Guillard burst onto the fighting scene in 2005 as one of the competitors in the second season of The Ultimate Fighter. Since then he has fought 17 times in the organization, racking up 11 wins with six of those via TKO/KO. Guillard is one of the early stars of the sport and has remained a fan favorite for his fast-paced, aggressive fighting style. He is coming off a critical win over Jiu-Jitsu black belt Fabricio Camoes at UFC 148.

Melvin Guillard trains with the Blackzilians as part of Team JACO at JACO Hybrid Training Center in Delray Beach, Florida.
