UFC welterweight Mike Pyle announced via Twitter that he will face James Head on the finale of the 16th season of "The Ultimate Fighter." The card takes place Dec. 15 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The UFC has not officially announced the bout. The card will determine the champion of the reality show. The main card will air live on FX, while the undercard will be broadcast on FUEL TV.

Pyle will be looking for his third win in a row. Since dropping a fight to Rory MacDonald, the Xtreme Couture veteran has bested Ricardo Funch and Josh Neer. Over the course of his career, he has also defeated Ricardo Almeida, Chris Wilson and Jon Fitch. Pyle also held the WEC welterweight title before Zuffa purchased the company.

Head dropped his UFC debut against Nick Ring and promptly dropped to welterweight. Since then, he has picked up back-to-back wins over Papy Abedi and Brian Ebersole. The Oklahoma resident earned a shot in the promotion with a then-upset victory over Gerald Harris in 2011.

The finale card is also expected to feature a heavyweight fight between coaches. Former IFL champion and TUF winner Roy Nelson will take on former interim UFC champion Shane Carwin.
