Sources at HDNet clarified that cable channel will not airthe 2010 M-1 Challenge regular season.

For the past two years M-1 Challenge aired at 8 PM Friday nights immediatelybefore Inside MMA and whatever event was being televised that week.  This Friday’s K-1 Classics broadcast will bethe last while M-1 Global’s website lists HDNet starting broadcasts on May 15thleading some to assume M-1 Challenge was returning to HDNet for their regular season.  According to HDNet sources M-1 Global’s webpage is last year’s, not this season’s.

M-1 Challenge is currently holding “Selection” tournaments in four regions todetermine the teams for the regular season which itself begins in thesummer.  Sherdog.com has beenwebstreaming the “Selection” events and is expected to stream the entiretournament structure but so far no word is available on if Sherdog.com willstream the regular season.

Starting March 26th HDNet will instead broadcast “The HDNet Fights Vault” at 8PM and “Fighting Words with Mike Straka” at 8:30.  Specifically relating to M-1 Challenge theresponse was, “in May 2010, HDNet doesn’t have M-1 Challenge”.  Note this does not necessarily cover anyupcoming M-1 “Breakthrough” events which would air in the live event slot at 10PM, none of which are currently even rumored anyway.
