World Victory Road, the parent company of Sengoku Raiden Championship, has changed the result of Shigeki Osawa’s disqualification win over Katsuya Toida to a no contest. The promotion is now looking to set up a rematch between the two fighters.

Back at SRC 13, on June 6., Osawa was awarded the victory after he received multiple accidental kicks to the groin from Toida and could not continue.

Osawa is one of the first Sengoku training players along with Maximo Blanco. After winning the first Sengoku Gold Cup, he made his debut in Pancrase. He has since fought exclusively for Sengoku. His current record stands at 5-1, with his only loss coming by way of decision to Ronnie Mann at Sengoku 11.

In addition to competing in MMA, Osawa has also pledged that he will attempt to represent Japan at the 2012 Olympic games in London. He was a standout wrestler in college and won the World University Wrestling Championships in freestyle. He also won the All-Japan Freestyle championship in 2007.

Toida is a journeyman who represented a big step-up in competition for Osawa. He carries a 12-9-3 record in the sport. He has fought for a variety of promotions including Shooto, Cage Force and K-1 Hero’s. Prior to the no contest against Osawa, Toida had won back-to-back fights against Wataru Takahashi and Yusuke Yachi.
