BJJ Goes off in China Demo with teams
from CheckMat and Emirates Team
The largest Martial Arts demos-expos, the "Expo Shanghai 2010", took
place on August 30 & 31, 2010 in the city of Shanghai, China. Each pavilion
was incredibly large and were built especially for this expo each with a design
that represents a Country. The expo gets 300 - 400 thousand visits each day !
And they expect to have a total of 70 million visitors during the next 6
months!
The WJAJC (Wrestling Judo Association Jiu Jitsu Community) organized a martial
arts demonstration that included Kung-Fu and Jiu Jitsu. The Jiu-Jitsu
demo was conducted by Checkmat BJJ athletes (Leo Vieira, Chico Mendes &
Marcelo Andreoli) and by a team from the United Arab Emirates (total of 15
members) including Michel Maia, Marcelo Motta, Oscar Junior, Maico Reiter,
Bruno Lopes, and others.
The CheckMat team spent 4 days doing Expo function and they were stoked to see
how teams from Brazil, China, UAE and Japan got along. The event was broadcast
live to China on national TV and all newspapers and media had extensive
coverage. The Federation has been doing an incredible job expanding and
exposing BJJ in China .
Congratulations to all involved especially the Federation.
