At age, 35 she has decided to call it quit.
For "WINDY" Tomomi (Sunaba) this next fight against Saori Ishioka is
going to be her last dance in the ring.
WINDY revealed she has been thinking about this "retirement" issue
for about six months, "I wanted to retire at the right time, and that is
one of the reasons. Right now I have no injury, I am with good training
partners so I am in a very good environment. Yet I got this gut feeling its
time for me to go."
In terms of the opponent, "I couldn't chose my very last opponent so I
asked (Yasushi) Sakamoto-san (Pancrase PR) to decide."
And WINDY sent a message to the JEWELS star from team Zendo-kai, "I think
her personality is similar to mine. She was fighting very often, at top spots,
but recently I don’t see her so much. Therefore, I feel, 'What a hell are you
doing?'. That wouldn't be considered as pro, is what I would like to tell her.
If she is a top fighter then I would like to see her to go much harder."
At the end WINDY politely told everyone, "I made a pro debut as a kick
boxer, then I trained at various places and now I wanted to end everything here
in Pancrase. At the very end I want to show 'the most scary' WINDY Tomomi. This
retirement match is for that one reason. This is going to be my best fight in
the career."
