Bellator champion Zach Makovsky to defend title against Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 65

As expected, Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that bantamweightchampion Zach Makovsky will defend his title against season-five tournamentchampion Eduardo Dantas. The bout headlines Bellator 65, which takes placeApril 13 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.

Dantas defeated Wilson Reis and Ed West to reach the tournament finals. In thefinale, he scored a unanimous-decision victory over Olympian Alexis Vila. Theyoung Brazilian prospect's record currently stands at 12-2. He also holdsvictories over Bellator veteran Luis Alberto Nogueira and former Shooto worldchampion Shinichi "BJ" Kojima.

Makovsky defeated West in the finals of the inaugural Bellator bantamweighttournament. He has yet to defend his championship. "Fun Size" hasscored back-to-back non-title victories over Chad Robichaux and UFC veteranRyan Roberts.

Bellator 65 also features the return of former Bellator welterweight championLyman Good. He takes on LeVon Maynard. Bellator's sixth season will crowntournament champions in the middleweight, welterweight, lightweight,featherweight and bantamweight divisions.
