WAYNE, NJ (March 21, 2011) -- Grapplers Quest will host the 2012 East CoastGrappling Championships, aka "Beast of the East," this weekend(Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25) at The Wayne Police Athletic League (locatedat 1 PAL Drive) in Wayne, New Jersey. Three hundred Championship titles inSubmission Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling will be contestedfor cash and prizes valued at $17,000, including custom championship belts,medallions, and certificates for champions.
"Beast of the East" is an open tournament for all styles of groundfighters. Competitors of all ages and skill levels participate in this eventthat is open to all grappling styles in order to determine this year's bestgrapplers on the East Coast of the United States.

Free Seminars for Competitors only: MMA fighter and Strikeforce veteran, Bill"The Grill" Cooper, will be conducting two free training sessions forpre-registered Grapplers Quest competitors both days, starting at 10:30 AM/ET,to raise awareness for AutismRadio.org. The United States Marine Corp is alsohosting "Fitness Challenge", a Boot-Camp style exercise competitioneach day at Grapplers Quest starting at 9:30 AM for all registered competitorswith certificates for participation.
Grappling is the fast-paced ground fighting art of Mixed Martial Arts,combining the throws of Olympic Judo, takedowns of Greco Roman and FreestyleWrestling, Leg Locks from Sambo, and other Submissions from Brazilian JiuJitsu-like arm bars, shoulder locks and chokes. More than 200 competition teamsand 1,000 competitors are expected to participate from 27 countries includingUnited States, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Japan,Croatia, Holland, England, France, and Australia.
