It looks like Yoshihiro Akiyama will get another tough fight in the UFC.According to several media sources, he has been matched with former titlechallenger Thiago Alves for UFC 149, which takes place July 21 at ScotiabankSaddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Aikyama made his UFC debut with a decision victory over Alan Belcher at UFC100. Since then, he has failed to register a win. During his current losingstreak, he has faced a winner of "The Ultimate Fighter," a former UFClight heavyweight champion and a former Strikeforce middleweight champion. Before coming the UFC, Akiyama won the 2006 Hero's light heavyweight grand prixand defeated legendary fighter Kazushi Sakuraba, although the victory was laterchanged to a no contest.

In 2008, Alves fought his way to a UFC welterweight title fight withthree-straight victories over Karo Parisyan, Matt Hughes and Josh Koscheck.Against champion Georges St. Pierre, Alves ended up on the wrong side of adominant decision. Since losing his title fight, Alves is only 2-3. In his lastouting, he seemed to be in the driver's seat against Martin Kampmann, but fellvictim to a late guillotine from the Dane.

Jose Also is expected to headline UFC 149. His opponent will reportedly bedecided when Chan Sun Jung and Dustin Poirier face off on May 15.
