Yusuke Kagiyama (center) celebrating his win with his masterDokojonosuke Mishima (right)
"Hatchet Man from DEEP" is what everyone was saying about YusukeKagiyama.
Ever since 2009, he has been fighting only for DEEP and this time, at the showoperated by ZST, Kagiyama faced their current featehrweight champion MasayukiOkude.
Although this show is called RINGS many people came to Differ Ariake on thisday was looking forward to see this match because this was "DEEP vsZST" from the fans point of view. On top of this, Okude is the championand Kagiyama is just a regular from DEEP so for ZST fans this is the fightOkude just can't lose.
Right off the bell, Kagiyama threw a leg kick but OKude grabbed the kicking legand scored a take down.
Kagiyama immediately went for a leg lock but Okude calmly defended, and wentfor kimura then followed by an armbar. Kagiyama somehow escaped from this butOkude quickly locked in a kimura, and slowly got to the mount position. Andonce again, Okude went for an armbar. This time, it was in really deep andKagiyama's right arm was almost completely extended.
But again, Kagiyama somehow escaped. Got on the top position and started tothrow precious punches.
These punches caused damage on Okude. ZST's featherweight champion visiblyslowed down. From there it was all Kagiyama. A young hope from Cobra-kai got tothe mount position, dropped many first, then switched to the side mount thendropped more punches. Then Kagiyama got up and when Okude stood up, landed aclean left high kick to the head, then a right hook to the chin. Okude backedoff but Kagiyama followed with a right hook and floored Okuda. Kagiyama chasedwith more punches and the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
This was a classic come from behind win by Kagiyama.
After the fight, Kagiyama wore DEEP t-shirts in the ring, celebrated with hismaster PRIDE / UFC vet Dokonjonosuke Mishima.
