No Holds Barred: Ray Sefo on World Series of Fighting

On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks withkickboxing and muay Thai legend Ray Sefo, who is now the president, co-owner, and co-founder of the new mixed martial arts promotion, theWorld Series of Fighting (http://www.mmawsof.com).

The much-anticipated debut card for the World Series of Fighting willtake place Saturday, November 3, at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casinoin Las Vegas, Nevada. The top fights will be televised live in theU.S. on NBC Sports Network.

The main event will be a heavyweight battle between Andrei Arlovskiand Devin Cole. The co-main event will be a light heavyweight fightbetween Anthony Johnson and D.J. Linderman. Also on the televisedcard, Miguel Torres will fight Marlon Moraes in a bantamweight boutand Gregor Gracie will take on Tyson Steele in a welterweight bout.The other fights on this card will be webcast, and plans are underwayto webcast the entire card to the rest of the world outside the U.S.

We spoke with Ray Sefo by phone Monday afternoon to preview WSOF 1.

Speaking about why he expects the  World Series of Fighting to besuccessful, he said in this interview, "There's so much talent outthere, and there's not enough stages that these guys can showcasetheir talent." He added, "Not every league can have started and comeout on NBC Sports Network."
