Open European Championship is carried out in accordance with the requirements of World MMA Association.
Individual-team competitions are held in 6 weight categories with individual-team classification among the participating countries.

I. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

- Determination of the strongest sportsmen and teams in Europe;
- Development and promotion in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA);
- Improvement of judges and coaches qualification and sportsmen’s level of training;
- Involvement of different groups of people in active lifestyle;
- Expansion of cooperation in the sphere of martial arts among the European countries.

III. COMPETITION ORGANIZERS
- Russian Public Organization “Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Union of Russia”
- World MMA Association (WMMAA).

Preparation for the championship is carried out by Organizing Committee.
Chief Panel of Judges is directly responsible for the competitions.

• Chief Scorer,
• Competition area Master Judge.

IV. REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPANTS AND CONDITIONS FOR THEIR ADMISSION

Sportsmen aged 18 years and older, with the level of training (not less than 2 years) in any Contact, Power or Mixed Martial Arts, who had been training for at least 6 months, registered by the Team Leader and medically examined not earlier than 5 days before the competitions may compete.

Participating team consists of 7 people:
- Sportsmen - 6 people, one sportsman per weight category
- Coach / Team Leader - 1 person

The following documents shall be provided to the Championship Credentials Committee:
- Application in a standard form from the National Federation with obligatory presence of duly sealed signatures of the Head of Federation, Coach and Doctor;
- Identification documents: passport, ID;
- A completed competitor’s card with acknowledgement (Annex No. 1)
- Certificates on HIV and Hepatitis B and C (originals).
- Health insurance policy and insurance contract (original) for this competition;

In order to have equal starting opportunities for sportsmen the Panel of Judges is entitled to demand the participants to undergo doping control procedures during or after the competitions. Where a participant or team representative refuses to undergo doping control procedures the participating team is not allowed to compete and is disqualified.

V. COMPETITION FORM AND EQUIPMENT OF SPORTSMEN

According to the Rules of the competition, sportsmen must wear long or short fight shorts and use protective equipment:
• white open finger lace-up gloves of at least 5 ounces (blue or red tape or plaster shall be wound around the wrist);
• protective mouth piece for teeth;
• bandage to protect the groin;
• black shin guards.

Helmets at Mixed Martial Arts MMA Imperia may be used in at will.
All equipment for the sportsmen taking part in the European Championship shall be certified by WMMAA. Equipment is certified when it has the «MMA IMPERIA PRO» trademark.

VI. COMPETITION PROGRAM

European Championship is held on November 14, 2012, at St. Petersburg, 1 pr. Pyatiletok, “Ledovy” Sports Palace.

During the day – participant’s arrival, Credentials Committee, weigh-ins, drawing procedure;
- Referee seminar;
- Meeting of representatives of teams and judges;
November 14, 2012
11:00 - Opening ceremony;
From 11:00 - preliminary, semifinal and final fights;
November 15, 2012
- Departure of participants.

VII. SCHEDULE OF FIGHTS

Preliminary duels: if more than 16 sportsmen are registered in the weight category, all fights to 1/8 Finals consist of 1 round of 3 minutes. If the fight ends in a draw, the victory goes to the sportsman who has received the last effective score.
From 1/8 finals duels are held: 2 rounds of 3 minutes each (60 seconds rest between rounds with chairs). In exceptional cases an additional extra round may be added if the first two rounds ended in a draw.
Finals consist of 2 rounds of 5 minutes each, 60 seconds rest with chairs. In exceptional cases an additional extra round may be added if the first two rounds ended in a draw.
The winner is determined in accordance with the Rules of Competition approved by WMMAA.

VIII. SUMMING UP

Individual-team competitions, they are held in accordance with the “Official Rules of Mixed Martial Arts Competitions 2012” approved by WMMAA, including revisions, additions and clarifications of certain clauses thereto. Competitions are held according to the Olympic system, in six weight categories: under 65, under 70, under 77, under 84, under 93, 93 +.
Team placing is determined by the maximum amount of points in individual classification of team members:
IX. for 1st place – 10 points;
X. for 2nd place – 8 points;
XI. for 3rd place – 6 points;
XII. for 4th place – 5 points;
XIII. for 5th place – 4 points;
XIV. for 6th place – 3 points;
XV. for 7th place – 2 points;
XVI. for 8th place – 1 point.
5th place is taken by the participant, who lost to the champion in the quarterfinals, 6th place is taken by the participant, who lost to silver medalist in the quarterfinals, 7th place is taken by the participant, who lost to bronze medalist and 8th place is taken by the participant, who lost to the sportsman who had taken the 4th place.

IX. AWARDING

Championship winners, who had taken first, second and third places in individual competitions, are awarded with medals and certificates; coaches of champions are awarded with medals and certificates. Teams taking first, second and third places are awarded with cups and certificates.

X. FINANCING TERMS

Expenses on organizing and carrying out competitions, awarding of sportsmen, teams and coaches of the winners, rent of a sports complex, transport services and prize pool formation are incurred by the organizers and sponsors of the competition.
Participating teams shall bear expenses for preparation of entry documents, and travel to the place of competition and back.

IX. APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITIONS

Application for participation in competitions shall be executed in accordance with the Rules of Competitions in two copies.
Teams shall arrive for registration in St. Petersburg on November 13 no later than 18-00.
