Going largely underreported so far is the September 21st XFL Fight night 9 which features a good main event of Jake Rosholt vs. Anthony Johnson.  The event takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, OK with a live webcast at xflfights.com.

Rosholt has been hovering on the fringe of getting back in the UFC for two years with a record of 6-2 (and one “no contest”) since his last Octagon appearance.  Most fans heard of his win in BFC 37 and maybe even Shark Fights however after eleven months off Rosholt took a loss to Matt Thompson in the relatively unknown show XKO in June.  Johnson, also 12-4, has two wins since leaving the UFC with a decision over David Branch and a TKO of Esteves Johnson, both in TFC.

The rest of the card is a chance to see some of the predominantly Oklahoma fighters such as Bellator vet Levi Avera’s rematch against Dylan Smith in the co-main event.  In their first meeting in February Avera won a unanimous decision.  Since then Smith hasn’t fought while Avera took a decision over Zac Kelley before losing by heel hook to Brendan Tierney.
